                    <description><![CDATA[<p><b>Terms of Reference (ToR) for Digital Facilitator</b></p>
<p><b>Heifer International Nepal</b> is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and poverty while fostering sustainable livelihoods through community-based agricultural and economic initiatives. The organization focuses on livestock development, women’s empowerment, and social capital strengthening, alongside climate-smart agricultural practices. By providing families with training, resources, and the iconic &#8220;Passing on the Gift&#8221; model, Heifer Nepal enables communities to build sustainable income sources, improve food security, and achieve long-term economic stability.</p>
<p>Heifer Nepal is promoting digitalization of agriculture and livestock farm practices of more than 400K+ women farmers, their 300+ cooperatives, and their apex body as a part of its Innovation in Agriculture and Livestock Value Chain (IALVC) project. Heifer seeks to hire digital facilitators for the deployment of various digital platforms (GeoKrishi SEWA Farm, GeoKrishi SEWA Ext, GeoKrishi SEWA Enterprise, GeoKrishi SEWA Agrovet etc.) developed for the digitalization.</p>
<p><b>Number of Facilitators:</b> 2</p>
<p><b>Contract Period:</b> February 2025 to July 2025.</p>
<p><b>Reporting to: </b>Innovation and New Initiative Lead</p>
<p><b>Travel Required:</b> 75% Monthly.</p>
<p><b>Location:</b> Butwal Region (1) and Chitwan Region (1).</p>
<p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Backstop Geokrishi SEWA Digital platform users on using all the mobile-based as well as web-based applications of Geokrishi SEWA.</li>
<li>Assist in the operation and handling of the web based as well as mobile based digital platform.</li>
<li>Provide guidance to users on how to navigate the digital platforms.</li>
<li>Help troubleshoot technical issues faced by the application users in coordination with the IT company.</li>
<li>Monitor and ensure accurate data entry into the digital platforms.</li>
<li>Review, organize and maintain records to ensure the reliability of the data.</li>
<li>Provide user feedback to the digital development team for system enhancement and updates.</li>
<li>Generate and share periodic reports on system usage, challenges and success.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Heifer team, SEWA-Nepal team, local project partners, cooperative and other stakeholders to implement the digital platform.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in animal health or agriculture or other social science.</li>
<li>Familiarity with web-based and mobile applications, basic troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in data management tools (Excel, Ms-Word, etc.) as well as able to operate remote desktop applications like AnyDesk, TeamViewer, etc.</li>
<li>Good communication skills, Teamwork, and problem-solving ability,</li>
<li>Previous experience in handling the web-based and mobile based digital tools in the field of agriculture and livestock.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Other Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Willing to travel frequently in the different working area of the project</li>
<li>Must have a two-wheeler driving license and a laptop</li>

<p>The Project Manager for the “Building Agroforestry-based Adaptation Plans for Resilient Floodplains (BAGAR)” project will manage the implementation of ecosystem-based adaptation plans aimed at enhancing resilience in flood-prone areas of Nepal. This role involves managing project resources and coordinating closely with local communities, stakeholders, and partners in Nepal’s Madhesh Province (Gadhimai Municipality, Rautahat District) and Bagmati Province (Marin Rural Municipality, Sindhuli District). The position will ensure the successful development and timely execution of project activities, emphasizing participatory planning and capacity building that incorporates the needs of marginalized groups, particularly women.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Educational Qualifications and Experience:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.</li>
<li>At least 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in Nature based solutions, Ecosystem based adaptation, watershed management, agroforestry, community development, or related fields.</li>
<li>Proven experience working with marginalized communities and a strong understanding of gender and social inclusion issues.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, particularly women and vulnerable groups.</li>
<li>Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including monitoring and evaluation techniques</li>
</ul>

<h1>Program Officer – Livestock Technology &amp; One Health– 1</h1>
<p><strong>Location: Bajhang District, Nepalgunj Region </strong></p>
<p><strong>Major Roles and Responsibility:</strong></p>
<p>The Program Officer – Livestock Technology and One Health will assist in the development and adoption of innovative technologies along the livestock value chain (animal nutrition, animal breeding and genetics, animal health and production management, processing, packaging, and cold chain maintenance). S/he will work with the Resource Mobilization and Program teams to leverage resources to support programmatic activities. S/he will also be responsible to collaborate with the government, related private sector and other development projects to provide further support to livestock enterprises, bring efficiency in the value chain and increase profitability. S/he will work closely with academic and research institutions in research and development and generate new knowledge in all domains of livestock development.</p>
<p><strong><u>Minimum Requirements:</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent in veterinary science and animal husbandry, plus at least three (3) years of related experience</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, social capital development, institutional development, capacity building, training, smallholder farmers/rural SMEs/co-ops, and base of the pyramid consumers</li>

<p><strong>Project: </strong>Integrated Approach to Enhance Milk Quality, Dairy Animal Productivity, and Milk Consumption by Vulnerable Household Members in Rural Nepal</p>
<p><strong>Background</strong></p>
<p>Heifer Project Nepal has been implementing “Integrated Approach to Enhance Milk Quality, Dairy Animal Productivity, and Milk Consumption by vulnerable Household Member in Rural Nepal” project, with one of the major objectives to promote the consumption of Animal Source Food (ASF), especially milk among vulnerable community. To achieve the objective the project, aim to enhance nutrition education among mothers, fathers, and adolescent girls through nutrition education and participatory learning activities. Therefore, the trainee (nutrition) will track/identify the households included in baseline survey from the intervention group, form mothers’, fathers’ and adolescent girls’ group, and support to organize and facilitate nutrition educational activities (group meetings) in mothers’, fathers’ and adolescent girls’ group.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>The trainee (nutrition) is expected to carry out following activities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist project team to identify households included in the baseline survey from intervention group</li>
<li>Support to form mothers’, fathers’ and adolescent girls’ groups in the intervention group</li>
<li>Provide necessary technical backstopping to local resource persons for nutrition education related activities</li>
<li>Support local resource persons to organize and facilitate the nutrition educational activities (group meeting)</li>
<li>Ensure participatory learning and action has been implemented in group meeting and the available IEC materials has been used effectively</li>
<li>Support in Nutrition club formation and mobilize adolescent girls for nutrition awareness in the community</li>
<li>Identify locations to establish model kitchens and support in model kitchen establishment</li>
<li>Develop educational materials for school milk program and develop cost effective menu including animal source foods especially milk and milk products for school children</li>
<li>Support in collection and compilation of project related data from field</li>
<li>Develop and contextualize IEC materials for nutrition club and model kitchens</li>
<li>Collaborate with ward office, health facilities, female community health volunteers (FCHV) and other relevant stakeholders</li>
<li>Compile and prepare case stories/success stories related to project intervention</li>
<li>Perform other job-related duties as required/assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Duration </strong></p>
<p>The total duration of the assignment is 60 working days, starting from second week of September 2024.</p>
<p><strong>Qualification Required</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Final year student of bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics</li>
<li>Strong communication and facilitation skills</li>
<li>Self-motivated and learning attitude</li>
<li>Sound computer skills (MS Office package)</li>
<li>willingness to travel and spend considerable time in field</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Major Roles and Responsibility:</strong></p>
<p>This position will provide technical support to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, learning and systems (MELS) of projects initiatives. S/he will be responsible for output monitoring, for designing study methodologies, independently implementing surveys via recommended digital tools, ensuring data quality, data analysis, and reporting findings to key stakeholders. This position requires more than 50% field works for capacity building of field staff and ensuring accuracy of reported data/figures by the project team.</p>
<p><strong><u>Minimum Qualification </u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Business Administration, Economics or any other social science related field is required plus minimum 4 years’ of relevant experience in the similar position. Master’s degree preferred.</li>
<li>Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of project monitoring and evaluation</li>
<li>Understanding of the current M&amp;E trends and especially M&amp;E systems in development organizations</li>
</ul>
