Job Description
Heifer Project International (HPI), an international non-governmental organization has been working in Nepal since 1997. HPI has served over 35 million families in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. In Nepal, HPI/N has worked in 43 districts in partnership with 100+ local non-government organizations (NGOs) with the mission – ‘Working with communities to end world hunger and poverty and care for the Earth’. It has been working in close collaboration with the local, provincial, and federal governments of Nepal and related organizations and contribute to the national development goals. Till December 2021, it has directly served over 300,000 needy families.
HPI Nepal program works to achieve its mission of ‘alleviation of hunger and poverty and care for earth’. It intends to achieve holistic development through social transformation and better mobilization of physical resources. It believes development is not just about distributing physical inputs but more about empowering people and recognizing their potential which leads to their self-initiatives for sustainable development. Agriculture/ livestock is the main domain for economic transformation of the communities it works with.
HPI Nepal is Implementing Milky Way Program with aim to improve competitiveness that will drive sector-wide profitability and sustain smallholder incomes above the living income threshold. This program specifically concerns with (i) develop a new model for dairy production in Sindhuli district to serve as a “Center of Excellence and Learning”, (ii) scale up the model dairy village, and (iii) address the challenges of the national dairy ecosystem. In this context, for implementation of project, HPI Nepal is inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) from locally registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) from Sidhuli District working in agriculture and livestock value chains.
