Field-based Trainees (Digital Learning):  Nos. 3

Project Name: “Digital Mentoring and Continuing Education for Improved Service and Market Linkages among Community Animal Health Workers in Nepal”

Fund: UF/LSIL/USAID.

Contract Period: January 2025 to June 2025

Reporting to: Program Officer-Digital Learning.

Travel Required: 75% Monthly.

Location: Nepalgunj Region (1), Butwal Region (1) and Chitwan Region (1).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support monitoring and implementation of the virtual collection center (VCC) and mentoring and continuing education platforms by working with cooperatives, village animal health workers (VAHW)/Community Agrovet Entrepreneurs.
• Backstop Geokrishi SEWA Digital platform users on using all the mobile and web-based applications of Geokrishi SEWA.
• Assist in the operation and handling of the web and mobile based digital platform.
• Provide guidance to users for the navigation of the digital platforms.
• Support to troubleshoot technical issues faced by the application users in coordination with the IT company.
• Ensure the accuracy of data entry and monitor it in the digital platforms.
• Review, organize and maintain records to ensure the reliability of the data.
• Provide user feedback to the digital development team for system enhancement and updates.
• Generate and share periodic reports on system usage, challenges and success to Heifer staff, and the U.S.-based research team that is evaluating both technologies.
• Collaborate with Heifer team, SEWA-Nepal team, local project partners, cooperative and other stakeholders to implement the digital platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in animal health or in Agriculture.
• Familiarity with web-based and mobile applications, basic troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in data management tools as well as able to operate remote desktop applications like Any Desk, TeamViewer, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft package Excel, Ms-Word,
• Good communication skills, Teamwork, and problem-solving ability,
• Previous experience in handling the web-based and mobile based digital tools in the field of agriculture and livestock.

Other Requirements:

• Willing to travel frequently in the different working area of the project.
• Encourage to apply those who have motorbike with driving license and own laptop.
• Highly encouraged to those from same working area (Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Palpa, Tanahu, Dhading, Nawalparasi) of the project for this position.
