— A Study on Women Empowerment in Nepal

Heifer International’s Strengthening Smallholder Livestock Value Chain Enterprises (SLVC) program in Nepal aims to empower women and improve their livelihoods. The program, which began in 2012, understands the importance of household dynamics and involves family members, community leaders, and social groups as secondary beneficiaries. Heifer’s Values-Based Holistic Community Development Approach is conveyed to project recipients in 12 Cornerstone Trainings. These are a set of training, discussions, and reflections that create an environment conducive to personal growth and inspire behavioral change in people. This report is a comprehensive assessment of Heifer’s interventions in Nepal which analyzes indicators of women’s empowerment across demographic variables.
