
Heifer International has had its presence felt in Nepal since 1957-58 with the gift of high yielding improved breeds of cattle, sheep and pigs for cross breeding and parent stock of poultry along incubator upon request from the government of Nepal. With the aim of ending hunger and poverty. Heifer International Nepal was registered in 1997. Today with over two decades of experience Heifer International Nepal has been able to reach
more than 260,000 families and has transformed their livelihood with
a focus on livestock development programs. These families have been
organized into 11,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs), 227 Social Entrepreneur
Women Cooperatives (SEWC) and 3 District Unions.
