Job Description
- Background
Heifer Project Nepal (HPN) is a non-profit and humanitarian organization dedicated to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.
HPN has taken livestock particularly goat for meat, and cow and buffalo for milk purposes as prime commodities to intervene to bring people out of hunger and poverty. It has helped communities to raise their livestock through providing animals to the needy families as well as package of services to improve the production and productivity. Since 2012, the concept of Community Agro-Vet Entrepreneur (CAVE) has brought to broaden the scope of earlier practiced CAHW (Community Animal Health Worker) or VAHW (Village Animal Health Worker).
Participants selected in coordination with respective Local Government will be provided specialized package of trainings (35 days of Village Animal Health Worker Training, 7 days Basic Agriculture Training) and mobilize them to provide treatment services, input supplies, extension services and to operate the service enterprise sustainably.
HPN invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from the training institutions meets following competency and eligibility.
- Objective of the assignment
The overall objective of this assignment is to organize multiple slots of CAVE training to the participants selected from project areas.
- Provide 35 days VAHW training.
- Provide 7 days Basic Agriculture training.
Trainings need to be provided in appropriate batch sizes to the participants from following locations mentioned below. Training Center should be located in convenient areas as per locations of participants and hence three different contracts have been solicited.

- Required Competency/Eligibility
- Organization that meets requirements can apply individually for a single contract or can apply for 2 or all 3 contracts. Organizations can also apply in a Joint Venture.
- Trainings need to be concluded within FY 079/80.
- Should be an authorized/ certified VAHW training Institute.
- Can receive approval from province level ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative prior to start the training.
- Conduct the VAHW training based on the curriculum approved by the government of Nepal.
- Conduct Basic Agriculture training based on the curriculum provided by Heifer Project Nepal.
- Provide theorical and hands on skills to training participants on livestock health and management.
- Make available all training handouts / contents to the participants.
- Should provide facility of accommodation including food for the training participants.
- Deliverables
- A Training completion report including details of participants, curriculum, methodology of training, and contents.
- REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Eligible training institutes are requested to submit application along with the following documents mentioning on the envelope “EOI for conducting CAVE training” by 13 April 2023, 5 :00 PM at following address.
- Application letter for EOI clearly mentioning the contract (A/B/C) for which EOI is submitted.
- Organization profile with trainer’s details
- Organization registration and renewal certificate
- Copy of VAT certificate
- Latest tax clearance certificate (FY 078/79)
