Heifer Project Nepal (HPN) is a Nepalese NGO working with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. For the past 23 years, HPN has been working in holistic development involving women and youth as agents of change and households as units of economic activity to achieve sustainable development, job creation, food security, income generation, and employment promotion. Currently, HPN works on goat and dairy value chains to promote agri-businesses and create employment opportunities for farmers and various actors along value chains.
HPN Nepal program works to achieve its mission of ‘alleviation of hunger and poverty and care for earth’. It intends to achieve holistic development through social transformation and better mobilization of physical resources. It believes development is not just about distributing physical inputs but more about empowering people and recognizing their potential which leads to their self-initiatives for sustainable development. Agriculture/ livestock is the main domain for economic transformation of the communities it works with.
Heifer Project Nepal is seeking EOI and technical proposal from organizations for capacity building of women led social entrepreneur and agricultural cooperatives. The prime objective of this partnership is to enhance competency of women led cooperatives, district unions and associations in the areas of institutional development, governance, financial management, business management, and networking and coordination of women cooperatives.
