Background

Nepal’s expanding digital connectivity and large youth population create a strong opportunity for inclusive employment, entrepreneurship, services and civic leadership. Yet young women and men, especially from rural, indigenous, marginalized and remote communities, face unemployment, skills mismatch, limited mentorship and unequal access to digital tools, markets and networks.

UDAAN is a 48-month European Union-funded initiative to increase the inclusion of young Nepali women and men in the digital world and job market through digital literacy, upskilling, innovation, professional experience and institutional strengthening.

Working Areas

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities

💻

Digital literacy, AI awareness and safe digital participation

  • Facilitate digital literacy sessions for officials, youth, entrepreneurs and community groups.
  • Support enrollment in UDAAN-supported learning platforms such as Shikshya.org.
💻

Local challenge identification and solution co-creation

  • Facilitate consultations to identify priority local challenges.
  • Build a municipal challenge bank and support hackathon submissions.
💻

Youth engagement, inclusion and outreach

  • Mobilize young women and men from marginalized communities.
  • Coordinate with schools, cooperatives and ward offices.
💻

Agri-tech, cooperative digitalization and enterprise support

  • Map cooperatives and entrepreneurs who could benefit from digital tools.
  • Support digital record keeping and market information access.
💻

Municipal innovation hub establishment

  • Support setup and operation of the Municipal Innovation Hub.
  • Support SOP development and policy dialogues.
💻

Monitoring, documentation and learning

  • Prepare monthly work plans and progress reports.
  • Document learning notes and success stories.
